The Local food initiative has been gaining steam in the past few years!!! And I LOVE IT.

Recently ive decided to go completely local and try and get everything from local made businesses. Ranging from food, to toothpaste, to cleaning products. Its really gave me a sense of community spirit. Also local organic food is by fat the tastiest food ive ate. Although it goes off quicker 😛 but i suppose that just goes to show the amount of crap that goes into our food supple…… *Sigh*

Some large companies have started to vow that they will encorporate more local food into their supermarkets. but for me id rather the people sack off the supermarkets and go directly to their local businesses!!!

People are starting to also do some guerilla gardening which is FANTASTIC. If anyone hasnt yet heard of Incredible Edible and Todmorden then please check it out. I little village has got together without the permission of the council and started to grow food in every nuck and cranny they can find. The whole community are now openly going out and picking up bits of fruit randomly growing in the way side. And so far the council have really got on board. there are places all around the country and the world following this little villages lead and started to set up their own guerilla gardening!!!

This is my little pledge for everyone just to try out your local stores. Its worth it i promise.
